Projects
StreetFest!
Since 2018, Simon Fraser University Ancillary Services and other community members have organized Burnaby Mountain's official street festival, StreetFest!. The festival highlights local businesses, artisans, and entertainers while connecting the SFU, Univercity and Burnaby communities.
Due to the pandemic, we had to innovate and use a combination of virtual and augmented reality to host the festival online. The event was a success that was visited by more than 2,000 participants globally.
While a part of the organizing committee for the past two events, I served as the communicator for the project including strategic and tactical assets, branding, signage, and other items.
Fairtrade Gold
The fair trade movement supports farmers and producers in the Global South by paying them fair and equitable wages for their goods and services. Working with our departments and student ambassadors, SFU achieved the first Fair Trade Gold campus designation in Canada.

As a part of the operational and communications team, I worked to ensure we met the required goals within our departments as well as communicate about our successes to the community.

"I've worked with Taylor on numerous projects across a broad spectrum of needs. From graphic design to marketing, they've absolutely excelled in every department. They're attentive, prompt, respectful, and exceptionally talented at what they do. If you're looking for someone who learns quickly, is dedicated to quality and knows how to deliver I can't recommend Taylor enough."

Re-Use For Good
The Re-use For Good initiave aims to reduce all unnecessary single-use plastics (SUPs) on the SFU campuses and institute a circular economy to reduce waste.
The taskforce is made up of student, staff and faculty stakeholder groups that work in coordination to make changes across the three campuses including eliminating plastic bags, installing more water fill stations, providing easily accessible reusable alternatives, and more.
As a part of the taskforce, I consult with campus accessability groups to ensure our program aligns with their needs and also work on communications initiatives to inform our community of any successes, or upcoming changes they might see in service locations.

DM & Dine
The DM & Dine program offered a unique experience to visitors by providing them with a bespoke Dungeons and Dragons adventure while they dined at one of three Storm Crow Alliance locations in Canada.
Our expert Dungeon Masters (DMs) were recruited locally and were well-known in our community as actors, podcasters, and comedians to run three-hour adventures for our guests.

As the manager of this program, I oversaw bookings, organized drop-in events with the restaurants, and DMs, and deployed strategic and tactical communications assets for the projects.
